As one of Porchester Hall’s approved suppliers we made it our mission to get to know the venue and its spaces. We have worked at this venue on numerous occasions before and we want to show it off to give you the low-down on its spectacular features and beauty through the eyes of one of Porchester Hall’s event organisers.
The history of Porchester Hall
This stunning venue first opened its doors in 1929 alongside the historic Turkish Baths and Library on Porchester Road. Although this was originally going to be used as a local civic hall, the grandeur of its Main Hall was soon picked up by the wider community and its popularity grew to play host to all types of events and meetings. At the entrance to the main hall the first foundation stone can be seen which was laid by Mayor Leonard Snell, JP.
The Main Hall as described by Porchester Hall events team
One of Porchester Hall’s very own events team describes the Main Hall so beautifully, “The Jewel in the crown of our London portfolio, Porchester Hall’s classic art deco design and understated elegance make it a sought after venue for all types of events from parties, dinners and weddings to music shows, comedy gigs and sporting spectacles. The elegant 1920’s building’s features add a touch of glamour to proceedings, which probably explains why the venue is favoured for fashions shows and filming.”
“The small hall can serve as an ideal ancillary to functions or as a charming venue space in its own right: this versatile space has capacity for up to 50 guests. Other spaces available include the Duchess of York Suite and the Blue Room, which are ideal for more intimate gatherings, backstage rooms or as an extension of the Main or Small Halls.”
A spectacular venue!
