TEHC Team – Monday, March 21, 2016
We’re really happy to announce that we’ve donated some of our furniture products to the Copperbox Arena for another year as Sport Relief returned to our screens for 2016. The event took place on Friday 18 March, where millions of people across the country tuned in and watched the night of events hosted in the Arena.
The Copperbox Arena has played host to Sport Relief since 2014 and returned once again this year for a night filled with great humour, classic tributes and sporting icons, all doing their best for a good cause. The event was held in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park; the home of sporting achievements since the Olympics four years ago. Last year Sport Relief managed to raise over £51m – a record-breaking amount. However this was trumped by this year’s efforts, when an incredible £56.8m was raised!
We donated a variety of furniture items to our friends over at Sport Relief in order for their event to run as smoothly as possible, including coat rails and ashtrays which proved really handy for the nature of the event. The company that owns it, GLL, also owns Better Venues, which is a name we’re very familiar with as we’ve supplied furniture to their venues in the past.
Our very own Guvnor, Victoria Morgan-Cummins, said:
“Sport Relief is one of the biggest sporting events in the UK and the team is so happy to have been a part of it. They’re changing the lives of thousands worldwide and we just wanted to do our bit to help out.
“We wanted to make sure that we were available to offer anything the event needed in order for it to go well and I think we did just that. It is a cause that I really enjoy watching on TV and it was great to actually be involved this time around.
“Even though this is only the second year we’ve been involved in Sport Relief, we already can’t wait to do it again in 2018!”
